As a fully qualified Chartered Surveyor with over three decades worth of experience dealing with the highs and lows of the London property market, Charlie offers a commitment to professionalism and a value added surveying service that is second to none.
Charlie’s main areas of instruction are in his “home patch” of Westminster, Kensington, Chelsea, Knightsbridge, Belgravia, Pimlico and Fulham.
Charlie’s expert advice and knowledge of the London prime residential market is invaluable when it comes to making the right property decisions. He has been involved in the London property sector since 1987 when he started his working life at a private bespoke Belgravia based valuers and estate agents. Having gained a BSc (Hons) in Estate Management he has been a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors since 2000. He was also a member of The Incorporated Society of Valuers and Auctioneers (ISVA) and has added to his portfolio of qualifications by undertaking energy assessment courses.
In addition, Charlie is a qualified member of the Property Care Association (PCA), a certified surveyor of timber and dampness in buildings (CSTDB), and a qualified structural waterproofing technician (PCAQT).
Harry Speir AssocRICS
Harry is an established and popular surveyor in the London market. He has a wealth of experience in the residential markets. Qualifying 20 years ago with RICS whilst working for Countrywide Surveyors, he went on to survey residential properties across London for 7 years.
In 2008 Harry founded his own business providing EPC’s for the residential property sector in London. This gave him the ability to build close relationships with many people within the industry. After 3 years, he successfully sold the business to a leading property services company.
In 2013 Harry had the chance to work in a South West London estate agents, for two years. This gave him valuable experience within the residential deal making process. Deepening, in particular, his understanding of the human element at the heart of a property transaction – the buyer’s, vendor’s and agent’s. This was a valuable time and helped him to see the transaction process from all side’s.
In 2015 Harry formed MSW Surveyors and Valuers with his former colleague Charlie Mactaggart and Hugh Watson. This has gone on to become an established and well respected surveying business across all sectors of the Central and West London property markets.
Harry has a depth of technical surveying knowledge and a great understanding of the London residential property market. He has the unique ability to communicate with clients in a simple, positive, kind and thoughtful way.
Hugh Watson MRICS
Hugh Watson is a highly experienced surveyor based in central London and co-founded MSW with Charlie and Harry in 2015. With over 25 years of experience in the property industry, he has established a reputation as one of the leading experts in his field.
Hugh has a forensic knowledge of residential property in London – Chelsea, Belgravia, Notting Hill in particular, including level 3 survey reports, snagging of high end developments, defect anaylsis, and building pathalogy. He has worked on a wide range of projects in the residential sector ranging from listed buildings to modern developments.
Prior to 2013, Hugh dealt with development and very large scale mixed-use masterplans, and has a deep understanding of the complexities involved in these types of projects. In addition to his technical expertise, Hugh is also known for his ability to communicate complex issues with clarity and speed. Hugh has built up an extenisive network within the property industry and is happy to re-direct you where he is unable to help.
